Acceptance of websites (listing or advertising)
Any submitted website at EcoBusinessLinks is subject to
inspection for functionality, design, speed of operation and appropriateness prior to
being accepted for listing or advertising. Additionally, EcoBusinessLinks
will only accept those companies that have a clear environmental mission and positive
impact on the environment and whose websites function properly. Websites
can be rejected, and have been, if they sell or represent mostly non-ecological products
or services or if they are very slow to open, or down much of the time or have too many
design flaws. We will also reject any websites which try to sell at exorbitant
prices information/goods/services and which seem to us to be a rip-off
(examples: get rich schemes, (expensive) online classes without matching
content and/or accreditation, ebooks with no adequate content). It is up to the discretion of the editor of EcoBusinessLinks to
accept or reject any website. If you are not sure, take a look at other listings
in the appropriate category and it will give you a good idea.
Example
You own a hotel designed following feng shui principles but with no environmental
choice of materials or installations, your hotel will not be listed. The same is valid if
your hotel would just have solar panels for hot water!
We do not list: Scam
websites: Earth4Energy affiliated websites and other similar cheap solar
panel or free energy scam websites.
We do not
accept any websites parked on "free servers" featuring pop-ups etc, or who
don't have their own domain. No domains
such as
http://www.yourname.webs.com will be accepted.
Websites that require log-in will be asked to
provide for log-in info without registering in order to evaluate the
content.
Some category-specific
guidelines (not complete):
- Body care, soaps etc:
no websites selling products with parabens will be accepted in the body
care/soaps etc categories.
- Vegetarian restaurants,
guesthouses etc: you really have to have a vegetarian menu, not just as
an 'option'.
- Organic foods: vast
majority of your foods must be certified organic. No meat farms will be
listed.
- Insulation: (Spray) Polyurethane Foam products/services
A listed or advertising website whose content and/or
activity has changed such that it does not conform to EcoBusinessLinks listing
requirements anymore may be removed from the directory (both listing and advertising if
applicable) without advance notice and without right for any refund of paid fees for
listing and/or advertising.
Example
At the time you first contact EcoBusinessLinks for a listing, you sell mainly
cotton diapers, organic cotton clothing and natural non-toxic toys for babies and
children. With time, in addition to the cotton diapers, you change your clothing and toys
assortment, your company now sells mainly regular cotton and toys that don't specify that
they are non-toxic, in this case, your website will be removed from the directory and any
advertising would be removed as well, without right to any refund.
