No metals around here! Just good ole hemp cord, recycled yarns, cottons, bamboo and other ‘green’ fibers used in these bracelets & necklaces. The only metal you will find is an optional, unnecessary, only there because of demand clasp you can add to your bracelets. Affordability is key, and the trend of layering bracelets is easy with these products starting at $8.00 each (dozens of choices between $8 – $20) with and without beads. Men and women alike are adoring wearing this eco friendly alternative to cheap metals. Almost all jewelry is handmade using an ancient Samurai art called Kumihimo.
Q. What type of business do you operate — what do you sell, or what services do you provide and to whom?
A. I am a one-person from home business that personally hand makes all items sold. Custom orders are accepted and encouraged, contact me for more information on just about anything you can imagine.
Q. What led you to work in this field?
A. I was previously an Art Director in the magazine industry. What a way to burn out fast!
Not only was I tired and didn't want to see anymore office ceilings at 2am on a Saturday ever again I was also finding that my design job was killing my innovation in my crafting hobby. So I took a step out, found an administrative job and went running with the store. That was almost 2 years ago. Today I still work that day job but hope to one day give it up to create beautiful jewellery for the world instead.
Q. What is the goal of your business at an ecological level, what are you trying to achieve?
A. Alternatives to metal and mass-produced products by way of fiber jewellery.
Q. What are your plans for the future of your company?
A. I am hopeful that one day the majority of people who want to wear fiber, eco friendly jewellery, along with those with metal allergies will know where to find top-notch affordable products. And I hope that this will be me.
