Green Building Programs

Unfortunately, most of these "Green Building Programs" cater for the mainstream building industry and usually do not provide the commitment or sustainability offered by greener building methods. However they all do provide resources for energy savings and greener building methods.

Alaska
The Alaska Craftsman Home Program	An educational building industry alliance that promotes energy-efficient housing that is cost-effective, healthy, and durable.
Arizona
Scottsdale Arizona Green Building Program	The Green Building Program encourages a whole-systems approach through design and building techniques to minimize environmental impact and reduce the energy consumption of buildings while contributing to the health of its occupants.
California
Build It Green	Build It Green is a professional non-profit membership organization whose mission is to promote healthy, energy and resource-efficient buildings in California.
Green Building in Alameda County	Practical, easy-to-use publications, directories and other tools for green renovation and new construction.
California Green Builder	Created to encourage greater participation in green building by production builders, CGB was developed by the building industry to be voluntary and performance-based. CGB provides quantifiable environmental benefits and documented savings empowering builders and homebuyers alike to make a difference.
Innovative Building Design Review Committee Santa Barbara County	The Santa Barbara County Planning & Development Department established an Innovative Building Review Committee consisting of professionals to advise the public on energy-efficient building design. The goal of the Innovative Building Review Committee is to improve energy performance of buildings beyond minimum state standards.
City of San José Silicon Valley	In addition to requiring City buildings to be designed and built using Green Building principles, the City of San José encourages building owners, architects, developers, and contractors to incorporate meaningful sustainable building goals early in building design process.
Santa Monica Green Building Program Santa Monica	The City has adopted a set of requirements and recommendations to encourage the development of "green" buildings without forcing excessive costs or other burdens upon developers, building owners or occupants.
Colorado
Built Green Colorado	Built Green Colorado is a statewide program promoting green building in the Denver metro area and all of Colorado. Built Green is operated by the HBA of Metro Denver. The program promotes energy and resource efficient new construction in Colorado.
City of Boulder Green Points Building program	Help homeowners find the products and designs for building "green". Encourage Boulder homeowners to include cost-effective and sustainable remodeling and building methods that conserve fossil fuels, water and other natural resources.
Florida
Florida Green Building Coalition	A Florida nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a statewide Green Building program with environmental and economic benefits.
Georgia
EarthCraft House	A green building program that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment. EarthCraft House is a partnership between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Southface, government and industry partners.

GHNE-Green Homes NorthEast	A collaborative program whose mission is to transform the residential building marketplace so that healthy, energy and resource-efficient homes become common practice.
Michigan
The Alliance for Environmental Sustainability	They provide education to consumers and industry professionals on environmentally friendly materials, energy efficient systems and products, healthy indoor air quality and affordable construction.
Green Built™ Michigan	Builders across Michigan care for our natural resources and are looking for a better way to build. Consumers are asking for green homes. Green Built™ Michigan is here to help! We certify homes and home builders. We are the official green building program of the Michigan Association of Home Builders.
The Minnesota Sustainable Design Guide	The Minnesota Sustainable Design Guide educates and assists architects, building owners, occupants, educators, students, and the general public concerning sustainable building design. The Guide is a design tool that can be used to overlay environmental issues on the design, construction, and operation of both new and renovated facilities.

Green Built Tour	Each year the New Mexico Chapter of the US Green Building Council hosts the Green Built Tour. The tour is designed to showcase buildings and homes which serve as examples of what can be done to incorporate the principles of “green” design and construction.

Builders Association of the Hudson Valley	The voluntary program for builders and remodelers will encourage resource-efficient construction practices and features that reduce environmental impact over the life of the home.
North Carolina
Western North Carolina Green Building Council	A non-profit organization whose mission is to promote environmentally sustainable and health conscious building practices through community education.

G/Rated Portland	The City of Portland's Green Building Resource Promoting green building as the standard of development G/Rated offers free technical assistance for development projects in Portland, educational tours and classes, project guidebooks and grants that support innovative green building practices.

Green Building Alliance Pittsburgh	A non-profit organization that integrates environmentally responsible--and high performance--design, construction and operating practices into the Greater Pittsburgh market.
Texas
Build San Antonio Green	Developed by the Metropolitan Partnership for Energy and is co-administered with the Greater San Antonio Builders Association. The goal of Build San Antonio Green is to create awareness and interest among builders and homeowners in resource-efficient building methods, materials, and technologies.
