Q. How long have you been in business? Tell us about your company history?
A. Lucky Dog Hot Sauce launched in June of 2012.
Q. What type of business do you operate — what do you sell, or what services do you provide and to whom?
A. Lucky Dog Hot Sauce is a gourmet quality fire-roasted hot pepper sauce contiment - Lucky Dog Hot Sauce is Food's Best Friend
Q. What led you to work in this field?
A. Started out as a hobby, demand grew to over 400 people and so I started this as a business.
Q. What is the goal of your business at an ecological level, what are you trying to achieve?
A. I believe Lucky Dog Hot Sauce is a healthier alternative to the salty, sugary hot sauces on the market today, or the painful extract-based hot sauces that can hurt people's stomachs and generally turn people off to hot sauce as a condiment.
I'm a big believer in shopping locally and I work the local farmer's markets on weekends. I also support local farmers and source the majority of my ingredients locally.
Small businesses often cut corners to save $ because things are always tight in the beginning. I don't mind spending a bit more to support my local farmers because I expect my local community to support me. I am a big believer in karma and this is a very direct version of it.
Q. What are your plans for the future of your company?
A. I would like to take Lucky Dog Hot Sauce national, getting into as many markets and stores as possible while attempting to avoid the massive chain stores like Kroeger and Safeway.
